Thailand Legalization Services

Simplifying the Thailand Document Legalization Process

To present U.S. documents in Thailand, they must first go through a formal authentication and legalization process. Monument Visa simplifies this process by managing each step on your behalf, ensuring your documents are properly prepared and accepted for legal use in Thailand.

Our team handles the entire legalization chain, beginning with local notarization and authentication through the Washington, DC Secretary of State. The documents are then authenticated at the U.S. Department of State and finally submitted to the Royal Thai Embassy for the final stage of legalization.

Whether your documents are needed for personal, academic, or business purposes, Monument Visa provides a fast, efficient, and professional service to ensure your documents are properly legalized for use in Thailand.

Thailand Documents Legalization

Step-by-Step Guide to Thailand Document Legalization

Our four-step process makes document legalization for Thailand simple and stress-free. We start with local notarization for general documents, then proceed to state authentication, and for federally issued documents, we skip directly to U.S. Department of State submission. Finally, all documents are processed through the Thailand Consulate for legalization, ensuring they meet the legal requirements for use in Thailand. Let us handle the complexities while you focus on what matters most.

Step 1: Notarization (If Required)

Most personal or business documents must first be notarized by a U.S. notary public.

Examples include:

  • Educational Documents (Diploma / Transcripts / Certificates)

  • State/local issued criminal reports

  • Business documents

Note:
Federal government documents (such as FBI background checks) do not require notarization and can move directly to Step 3.

Step 2: Washington D.C Secretary of State Authentication (1–2 Business Days)

Once your document is notarized, it must be authenticated by the Secretary of State where the notarization occurred.

Important:

  • Vital records such as birth, marriage, or death certificates must first be authenticated by the Secretary of State in the state that issued the certificate before sending them to Monument Visa. However, we can only service the states within the jurisdiction of the Washington D.C Thai Consulate. Please click here to view the jurisdiction list.
  • If you choose to complete the notarization and Secretary of State authentication in another state, you will need to mail the original notarized and authenticated document to our office so we can continue with the remaining legalization steps.
